Salt-tinged air drifts in from the east and meets farmland dust coming the other way, and open ground means a wall here gets weather from both. That is why it turns again sooner than a sheltered one, and why the fix has to reach further.
Identical starting point, identical weather. What separates them is whether anything was left alive in the render.
Take the staining off and leave what is bedded in the surface, and what is left living in the surface starts up again the moment the weather turns damp. On open ground taking weather from two directions, that moment arrives sooner than it does almost anywhere else we work.
The solution reaches into the surface and kills the living structure there, so what is left is a clean wall, not just a tidied one. What lands on it afterwards has nothing established to join, and takes far longer to get a hold.

Everything applied to a wall ends up at the foot of it, so that is where the job starts. Beds and borders at the base are watered down or covered before a drop goes on, drainage points are protected, and ponds, wells and open water are given a wide berth. Nothing is ever mixed anywhere on site. You are told before we leave how long to stay off the ground below. Your garden is part of what we are looking after, and it goes back the way it was.

Almost always because the growth was removed rather than killed. Take away what you can see and everything that produces it is still sitting in the surface, waiting for a damp spell. A biocide gets into that layer, which is the difference between doing this every couple of years and not thinking about it for a long while.
The difference is what does the cleaning. A power wash uses force to remove what is on the surface. A softwash puts a solution on at low pressure to kill the organism living in the surface, so it comes away rather than being driven off. One is a removal, the other is a treatment, and only one of them reaches what the growth is rooted in.
Drying time. The elevation that sees least sun stays damp for longer after every shower, and damp is the one thing growth cannot do without. It is completely normal, it tells us something useful about the house, and it does not change the job. The whole elevation gets treated as one.
People do, and the two things that catch them out are reaching an upper elevation safely and choosing something that only cleans the surface. On a low boundary wall it is a fair thing to try. On the front of a two-storey house, less so. It costs nothing to send a photo and ask first.
