Render, Roof & Gutter Cleaning in Rosslare Strand, Co. Wexford

A house here faces the harbour and the Irish Sea directly, so salt gets at every outside surface it has. Walls, tiles, gutters and paving all colour up together, so it makes sense to answer them together.

Salt does not pick one surfaceThe same aerosol that reddens the render is on the tiles, in the gutter line and across the paving. Cleaning one and leaving the rest tends to draw the eye straight to whatever was left.
You pay for the set-up onceA real share of any job is getting there, protecting planting and covering drains. Do two or three things on the same visit and that half hour appears on the bill once instead of three times over.

Where the saving comes from on a combined job.

Not a discount dressed up. A cost that stops appearing three times over.

Booked separately

Three visits, three set-ups

Getting there, unloading, protecting planting and running out hose happens before any cleaning does. When the jobs are booked apart, that same half hour is built into three separate quotes.

One visit, one set-up

The same three jobs to the same standard. The ground is protected once and the rest of the day goes on the walls, the gutters and the drive themselves.

Two or three jobs on one visit generally comes to less than the same jobs booked separately, and the outside of the house is done in one visit.

How the day runs.

Top of the house down, so nothing lands on finished work.

1. Tiles first

The roof leads, because everything loosened up there falls into the gutters. Doing them first would be work thrown away.

2. Then the gutter line

Gutters emptied of what has just come down and run through to check the water goes where it should. On this coast that is worth confirming rather than assuming.

3. Walls and ground last

Render, boundary walls and paving to close, worked from the ground with nothing overhead left to drop on them. By evening the whole outside is behind you.

Worth a minute first.

A quick check and a short read, both free.

What Trentepohlia is, why salt-damp suits it, and why it shows up on every surface of a seafront house rather than just the walls.

Which parts actually need doing?

The Render Check takes about a minute from the ground and helps you decide how much of the house is worth including before you ask for a price.

Questions about a combined visit.

Mostly practical ones about the day itself.

Should I do the roof at the same time?

If it needs doing, yes. The set-up is the same and the order matters, because everything off a roof lands on what is below it. Doing the walls first and the roof afterwards is the one sequence that does not work.

How quickly can you give me a price?

Usually the same day. A photograph of the elevation and your Eircode is enough for a real figure, and anything we cannot see in the picture we will ask about rather than guess at.

What about the dog?

Before we leave, you will be told how long to keep him off the ground under the wall — not after we have gone. It is a short window and a straightforward one, and we would far rather say it out loud than assume you know.

Is a small job worth your while?

Entirely. Entrance walls and pillars are among the most common things we are asked for, and they change the front of a property out of all proportion to what they cost.

What each job involves.

Method, what goes on the surface, and where the line falls between washing and treating. The main softwashing page has all of it.

More than the walls?

Say so with the photos. A combined visit usually lands well under the same list booked separately, and most houses are finished inside the day.

Include anything you are only half thinking about. It costs nothing to ask.
