Three things account for nearly all the gap between two houses on the same road.
A bigger roof is more square metres to cover, and a steeper one is slower going over every one of them. Both push the hours up, and hours are what a quote is really made of.
Light green film washes down quickly. Deep moss has to be taken off by hand first and then treated at the root, which is a different job on a different timescale. That is where most of the difference between two quotes lives.
Reaching everything from the ground keeps a quote low. Needing access equipment brought in raises it. Adding the gutters or the walls to the same visit works the other way, because the setting-up is already paid for.

No month is useless, but they suit different things. Treatment wants the dry stretches of late spring and summer. Clearing suits early autumn, ahead of the weather. Winter is for getting quoted and getting a date held. The people who do that get the pick of the calendar.
Clearing carries on regardless. Treatment does not, because the product wants dry hours behind it to do its work. We would rather shift a date than put something on that the evening washes off, and people are usually glad we did.
For summer treatment, book early. That window is the busiest of the year. For clearing there is far more give in it. Either way you get told honestly what is available, so you can plan around a real date.
Not necessarily. What we need is access around the outside of the house, and that gets agreed with you beforehand. Plenty of people are at work when we call and come home to a finished roof.
