Pure Water Window Cleaning in Ferns, Co. Wexford

Ferns is a street of doors and windows facing straight onto the road, and the frames take the same weather your glass does. We clean the whole opening: glass, frames, sills and seals, with purified water and a pole, so you are not left with a bright pane sitting on a grubby ledge.

Why frames matter as much as glass in Ferns

You can wipe a pane clear in Ferns and still have a window that looks tired. Look at the timber, the sill and the rubber seal around the edge, and you will usually find where the tiredness actually lives.

Street-facing frames on Main Street

Houses along Main Street sit close to the road, so the lower frames catch everything the traffic throws up. Painted timber and older render sills hold that grit in the grain, and if you do the glass alone you are left with a dark line along the bottom of every opening. We rinse the frame down first and the pane after it, so the glass stays clean once the frame has stopped shedding.

The shaded side of the street

One side of a village street gets sun by lunchtime and the other barely sees it. On the shaded side of Ferns you will find green growth creeping along the sill edges and into the corners of the beading. That growth wants a soft brush and plenty of clean water rather than a scrub with detergent, which only feeds the next bloom.

Seals, drainage slots and older openings

Older houses around the village carry a mix of sash, casement and later replacement units, and each one drains differently. We check the small slots along the bottom of the frame while we work, because a blocked one holds water against the seal all winter. Clearing them takes seconds with the brush already there, and your windows shut better for it.

Ferns carries more old stonework per street than most villages its size, with the castle, the abbey ground and the old cathedral all within a walk, and plenty of houses built to match. Purified water suits that mix. There is no chemical running off your sills onto stone, render or the planting underneath, and the frames come up clean along with the glass. One more thing worth knowing about a street this narrow: the openings sit close enough together that a job half done shows from the far footpath. Your neighbours see the row, not the pane. We finish the whole opening for that reason as much as any other, and you get a front that reads as looked after from the road.

The method, Ferns

Nothing forced, nothing scoured.

1

Nothing dissolved in it

The water is stripped first and can then lift dirt without leaving anything of its own.

2

A soft head on the glass

The film comes off the pane and out of the corners without scouring.

3

Reached from the path

The pole takes the rinse to the top floor, and no ladder goes near the house.

4

Left to clear itself

There is nothing on the glass to dry into a mark, so it finishes on its own.

Areas we cover near Ferns and across County Wexford

We work Ferns on our north Wexford run, and the villages either side of it fall on the same day.

Your house does not need a village address for us to reach it. We take in the townlands around Ferns, out towards Clologue and along the country roads that feed into Main Street, and we pick up Monageer and Oulart on the way south. If you are up a lane off any of those roads, say so when you book and we will fit you into the same round.

Further out, the same run takes in Gorey, Ballycanew and Kilanerin to the north, with Enniscorthy below us to the south. We are based in Enniscorthy, so very little of North Wexford sits far off our route. Ask us, and we can name the week we are nearest your door.

Book it once, and that is it

The same team each visit, and a spot held in the diary. From €25.

Window cleaning in Ferns: common questions

Is the frame and the sill part of it, or only the pane?

Yes, every time. The frame, the sill and the rubber seal get the same brush and the same purified rinse as the pane. That is the part you notice afterwards, because a clean pane above a grimy sill still reads as a dirty window from the garden.

What will it come to on a house in the village?

Signature Round work is priced from €25, and your own house moves off that according to the glass it carries and how awkward it is to get at. Give us the address, hear the figure, then decide. Nothing is tacked on afterwards, and nobody here will chase you for an answer.

Will pure water damage painted timber frames?

No. Purified water carries no detergent and nothing dissolved in it, so there is nothing left behind to sit on your paintwork. We use a soft bristle and light pressure on older timber. If a frame is flaking or a seal has perished, we will point it out to you rather than work over it.

Do you need to come inside, or use a ladder?

Neither, for the outside. We work from the ground with a water-fed pole and reach the upper openings from the footpath or the garden. Nothing of ours leans on your render, your gutter or your window boxes, and you can leave us to it while you are at work.

How often should a house in the village be done?

Most Ferns houses look right on a regular round rather than one rescue clean a year. Street-facing frames pick up traffic film steadily, so coming back before it sets is far less work than lifting it later. A house set back off the road behind a wall or a hedge holds its finish noticeably longer, and we set the gap accordingly. We will suggest what suits yours once we have seen it, and you can change your mind after that.
