Pure Water Window Cleaning in Boolavogue, Co. Wexford

If you have ever washed the windows yourself and found them worse once they dried, the water is the reason. We bring our own to Boolavogue, filtered down to nothing, so your glass comes up clear instead of spotted.

Well water, wind, and the haze you keep finding

Plenty of houses up around Boolavogue are on a well or a group scheme, and that water carries a fair load of dissolved mineral. You will not spot it in a glass at the sink. You will spot it on a window the minute the pane dries, and you will spot it again on the shower screen and the kettle, which are the two places most people first put it together.

What the minerals leave behind

Water off your outside tap is carrying calcium and other dissolved solids. Once it evaporates off the pane, all of that stays behind as a fine white haze. Wiping it while wet only moves it about, so the harder you go at it, the more of a smear you tend to finish with. The same haze turns up on a glasshouse, or on a car left out after a rinse, and it comes from the identical source.

Height and wind make it worse

Boolavogue sits high with very little shelter, and the wind takes the wet off your glass quickly. You lose the few minutes you would need to dry a pane properly, and the mineral flashes off where it stands. That is why the same job goes well on a still day and badly on an exposed one. It also explains the odd pattern you may have noticed, where the sheltered gable comes up grand and the exposed one is covered in marks after the very same bucket.

What purified water does instead

We run our supply through a filter set that strips those dissolved solids out before any of it reaches your house. With nothing left in the water, there is nothing left on the pane. We rinse the window and walk away, and it dries to clear glass on its own.

The older farmhouses between Ferns and Oulart tend to have deep sills and painted timber that show hard-water spotting badly, and we see the same on the roads around Monageer. Nothing we use touches your paintwork or your render, so the marks come off and everything else is left exactly as it was. Group scheme or private bore, the load varies from one townland to the next up here. It is why a neighbour can swear by the hose while yours ruins a window, and why we stopped relying on anybody's supply years ago.

How we clean windows in Boolavogue

Four steps, and the order matters.

1

Clean water, and only water

The minerals are taken out first. Nothing else goes near your windows.

2

Agitated gently

The brush is soft enough for old beading and firm enough to move the film.

3

Height without ladders

Reach comes from the pole, so the house is never leaned on.

4

Left wet, on purpose

Pure water dries without a mark, so the glass is left to finish itself.

01

Worked from below

The pole reaches, so nothing leans on the house.

02

More than the pane

Frames and sills each time.

03

Boolavogue window cleaning questions

Why does my own hose leave the glass worse than before?

Because the water in that hose has mineral in it, and the glass keeps the mineral once the water dries. You are taking dirt off and putting a haze on in the same pass. Neither of us can change what is in your well, so we simply do not use it. Our water has nothing in it to leave behind, and that is the whole difference.

What will it cost me?

Put a smaller house on the Signature Round and it runs from €25. Past that, the count of openings and the way the house sits on its site decide it, and you have the price in hand well before you commit to anything.

Do you need to use my water supply?

None of it. Everything we clean with travels in tanks on the van already filtered, so your well and whatever pressure it gives make no odds to us. Rather we did not run a hose across the garden at all? Say so and we will plan the job around that.

Will it suit old windows?

It suits them well. There is no detergent to sit in the corners of timber frames, and nothing abrasive goes near old glass. We brush gently, rinse and let the pane dry, and we will tell you honestly if a window has damage that cleaning will not fix. Old glass with a bit of ripple in it is a pleasure to work on, and it comes up beautifully once the haze is off.

Can you do the frames and sills too?

Yes, as part of the clean rather than as an extra. Frames hold a lot of the grime that runs back down over your glass afterwards, so leaving them out would only shorten how long your windows look right.
